A Study on the Neodymium Doped Yttrium Lithium Fluoride Laser

Abstract: The most widely used lasing medium for diode-pumped and arc lamp-pumped solid-state lasers is neodymium-doped yttrium lithium fluoride (Nd:YLF). Its laser transitions take place at 1047 nm and 1053 nm, and it is birefringent. The crystal of Nd:YLF is extremely fragile, only weakly soluble in water, and prone to breaking. [22]
