THE EIGHTH PHASE OF THE RESEARCH ON THE SAUMAL TOUR SCIENCE PROJECT: RESULTS, PROBLEMS, PROSPECTS
The Research Institute of Tourism was established at the University “Turan” (Almaty, Kazakhstan) in March 2012 on the basis of the research laboratory (1992) simultaneously with the university proper. The purpose of the Institute is to solve theoretical and scientific-practical problems of improving the positive impact of tourism on human life. At the same time, one of the main tasks of the Research Institute is the study of socio-economic efficiency of active types of tourism. This task is carried out by the Institute's employees in the structure of such direction of activity as identification of general regularities and basic conditions of directed impact of tourism on the improvement of people in the modern world. Specialists of the USA and Singapore in the course of a joint study determined that the human body loses the ability to recover after 120 years. The same scientists believe the record of longevity can be exceeded already in the current millennium. They also believe that this will be helped by new techniques that will extend human life up to 200 years [1]. What is the point in living to 200 years if the human body is worn out to the extreme? That is why the initial goal of the project is not only to preserve not only and not how much the actual maximum duration of a person in general, but the life of a mountain guide with the longest possible preservation of professional skills of leading category mountain treks. In this case we mean not only physical health, but also preservation of technical skills regarding safe passage of complex mountain terrain and making adequate complex technical decisions. Therefore, we have identified the need for and implemented effective means of preserving human health, including by means of tourism and related activities.
