O RISCO DA UTILIZAÇÃO DE MEDICAMENTOS INIBIDORES DE APETITE
This study examined the risks and challenges associated with the use of anorectic medications in the treatment of obesity and binge eating. Bibliographical research revealed that, although these medications can result in rapid weight loss, their indiscriminate use presents serious health risks, including serious side effects and physical and psychological dependence. Furthermore, the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to treatment was highlighted, involving not only the prescription of medications, but also lifestyle changes and psychological interventions. The lack of equitable access to healthcare services and medicines, along with controversial regulation of the marketing of anorectics, have been identified as critical issues requiring attention. Therefore, it is essential to implement public policies that promote access to safe treatments, education about the risks of self-medication and adequate regulation of the use of anorectic medications, based on solid scientific evidence and the well-being of the population.
