Maximizing the evaluation of droop control in independent microgrids
This paper presents a microgrid that includes two distributed generators (DGs) with DC sources and loads to discuss the new development of a droop control with two integrators based on interconnection and damping assignment passivity-based control (IDA-PBC) with a voltage and current control to reduce issues of stability, local oscillations, and transient modes during island mode operation. The innovative droop control method integrates advanced techniques to improve the dynamic performance of microgrids. This development enables the control of a group of distributed generators, allowing the division of energy to be smooth and flexible with safety against reverse power flows from generators that are spread out. The proposed control strategy also offers enhanced robustness, adaptability, and efficiency, even in complex operational conditions. The control approach described in this study was verified and evaluated using MATLAB and compared with the previous methods, which have proven effective and reliable in several scenarios, including situations involving sudden load changes and power disturbances.
