On the Problem of Hidden Meanings in Written Communication

The article considers one of the tools for working with hidden meanings — hermes of the field of linguistic tension of a complex syntactic whole as elements of its internal structure. Due to the fact that an artistic text as a "particularly aesthetic reality" provides the possibility of its relativly unlimited interpretation, hidden meanings can be extracted both from the multi-level linguistic units themselves and from the positional conditions in which they fall in the linear structure of the highest syntactic unit. Special attention is paid to the actualization of the meaning / content and production / perception relationships in the literary text, as well as to the actualization of the "out–of-text" load of the linguistic sign in the text.
