Coopération UAV-UGV pour l'inventaire d'entrepôts logistiques

This article describes, through an innovation project, the use of mobile robots for inventory operations in logistics warehouses. These mobile robots (drones) can move in an autonomous way through the storage facilities to acquire data (barcodes, SKU codes, ...) about the stored products and transmit them directly to the Warehouse Management System (WMS) using a communication network. Generally, they improve logistics management by providing reliability and by reducing the global cost of inventory operations since these can be carried out at hours that do not affect the normal operation of the logistics facilities. However, autonomous navigation of drones can be challenging because logistics facilities are known to be dynamic and cluttered environments potentially difficult to instrument. This article describes an innovating solution for inventory management in logistics warehouses using UAVs and UGVs.
