DMSO-catalyzed CO 2 reduction with 9-BBN: selective formation of either formoxy- or methoxyborane under mild conditions and <i>C</i> -methylenation of indoles

Formoxy- and methoxyboranes are selectively produced in excellent yields from CO 2 (1 atm) reduction with 9-BBN catalyzed by DMSO at room temperature. The X-ray structure of a CO 2 inserted adduct and C–C bond formation reactions are presented.
