Experimental investigation on accuracy of a Coriolis flowmeter in wide Reynolds number range by using various hydrocarbon liquids including LPG
OVAL Corporation, National Metrology Institute of Japan (NMIJ) and National Measurement Institute of Australia (NMIA) have jointly conducted a series of accuracy tests of a Coriolis flowmeter in wide Reynolds number range from 2600 to 660 000 by using various hydrocarbon liquids including LPG. The flow meter targeted for the test was a commercial type Coriolis flowmeter of 15 mm diameter with a typical gate-shaped structure, and was manufactured by OVAL Corporation. The result shows that once this type of Coriolis flowmeter is calibrated around Reynolds number 50 000 with hydrocarbon test liquids such as gasoline or kerosene, the calibration result is applicable to the measurement of LPG flow with Reynolds number at or above 50 000.
