Examining the Mediating Effects of English Learning Enjoyment on English Achievement
This study explores the relationships among learning environment, motivation, English learning enjoyment, intended efforts, and academic achievement. Specifically, it analyzes the mediating roles of three variables: English learning enjoyment, motivation, and intended efforts. Data from 647 middle school students were analyzed to examine the mediating effects of these variables. Findings indicate that all mediators have statistically significant indirect effects on academic achievement, highlighting the positive contributions of motivation, English learning enjoyment, and intended efforts to English learning achievement. Notably, English learning enjoyment enhances students’ motivation and efforts, which are directly linked to academic success. Pedagogical implications, study limitations, and directions for future research are discussed.
