Can the application of artificial intelligence technology promote enterprise green technology innovation?

As the core engine of the fourth scientific and technological revolution, artificial intelligence technology provides a good opportunity to drive the green technology innovation (GTI) of enterprises. At the same time, executives' academic background has an important impact on enterprises' GTI. This paper collects the word frequency data of artificial intelligence technology keywords through the jieba word segmentation function of Python software, and empirically tests the relationship between the application of artificial intelligence technology, the academic background of executives and the green technology innovation of enterprises in China's A-share listed enterprises from 2001 to 2021. The study finds that the application of artificial intelligence technology can effectively promote the ability of enterprises to improve the green technology innovation, and the higher the proportion of academic executives is, the stronger the role of the application of artificial intelligence technology in promoting the green technology innovation ability is. This study provides empirical evidence for exploring the application of artificial intelligence technology to achieve high-quality development from the perspective of executive personal characteristics.
