Causal Insights into Cervical Cancer: A Data-Driven Approach
This paper unveils a powerful approach to decoding the hidden causality in disease progression, leveraging the wealth of information embedded in observational data, specifically targeting cervical cancer. Utilizing Directed Acyclic Graphs (DAGs), the study constructs an initial comprehensive graph of potential causal links, which is refined through Conditional Independence tests to remove non-significant connections. This results in a meticulously crafted causal map that illuminates the intricate web of direct and indirect influences shaping disease progression. The methodology's validity is confirmed through multiple algorithmic tests, ensuring the accuracy and robustness of the causal inferences. Applied to cervical cancer data, the approach identifies significant causal links, substantiated by expert validations. The findings highlight the method's effectiveness in revealing intricate causal relationships, advancing understanding of cervical cancer and suggesting its broader applicability in medical research for epidemiological insights and targeted interventions.
