Exploring the Impact of Age Differences on Interface Design Features
This research explores the design of smart washing machine interfaces, aiming to improve universality and user experience. The study involved 32 participants from different age groups who tested a prototype interface developed using Axure and Figma software. Eye tracking technology and subjective preference questionnaires were used to analyze user differences and preferences. Results showed that both age groups performed better with a list-based interface layout. Younger users preferred single-color interfaces and flat icons, while older users preferred interfaces with adjacent colors, realistic icons, and sound feedback. Designers and engineers should consider these findings to improve product universality and optimize user experience.
