Determining the Locations of Devices for Intermittent Voltage Unbalance Compensating in an Electrical Network with Traction Load

The paper is devoted to intermittent voltage unbalance (IVU) in electric networks supplying traction load. Dynamic modeling of a real network fragment asymmetric modes is performed in MATLAB Simulink. A method for selecting optimal installation locations and power of IVU compensation devices in a network with one-way supply, supplying power to an electrified railway section, is proposed. A software implementation of this method is developed.

Abstract

The paper is devoted to intermittent voltage unbalance (IVU) in electric networks supplying traction load. Dynamic modeling of a real network fragment asymmetric modes is performed in MATLAB Simulink. A method for selecting optimal installation locations and power of IVU compensation devices in a network with one-way supply, supplying power to an electrified railway section, is proposed. A software implementation of this method is developed.
