CAD Model of an Experimental Setup for Studying Acoustic Instability in a Nonequilibrium Chemically Active Medium: Optimization of the Cooling System
3D model of the experimental setup was developed to study shock-wave pulses and detonation waves. Such wave structures are formed as a result of the nonlinear stage of acoustic instability in a nonequilibrium vibrationally excited and chemically active gas. Our model has a block structure, which allows changing and expanding the functionality of the experimental setup, including replacing faulty blocks. The CAD model of the experimental setup is adapted and optimized for manufacturing a prototype by 3D printing technology for selective laser melting of metal powder. We built an optimal configuration of the cooling system in the thermally active block of the experimental setup, which provides fairly uniform heating of the working surface. Mathematical modeling of the heat balance between gas heating and cooling of the working surface of the thermally active block by a liquid flow u nderlies the optimal solution. Numerical experiments show that the developed configuration of the cooling system effectively removes h eat and provides the necessary uniform temperature distribution on the working surface of the thermally active block.
