A Method of Balancing Device Parameters Selection

In the article a methodology for selecting adjustable balancing device (BD) parameters based on condenser batteries (CB) is described. The developed approach includes an assessment of the possibility to use a passive BD under the condition of meeting the regulatory requirements for power quality (PQ) and non-full compensation of voltage unbalance. The electric power quality measurement report is used as input data for selecting the BD parameters. The developed methodology is applicable if an insignificant distortion level produced by the supply system at the BD supply point exists.
