Distributed Computing Column 88 <i>An Invitation to Local Algorithms</i>

Overview. In this quarter's column, we have a contribution from Dr. Václav Rozhon, who provides us with a new perspective on the impressive recent progress happening in the area of local algorithms. Specifically, his column builds up introductory material in terms of definitions and simple examples, but in sufficient depth to understand complex recent results. This chapter is one of three parts of a larger survey written by the author, which I invite you to read if you would like to go deeper into this area.
