Modeling the Stress-Strain State of Soft Shells Reinforced with Ropes Using Spatial System of Flexible Threads
The paper describes a method and its testing as applied to the calculation of soft shells reinforced with ropes. The shell material is considered to be isotropic and linearly elastic. The load is excess air pressure, a concentrated force. A spatial system of flexible threads is adopted as a calculation scheme for the soft shell. A tangent stiffness matrix is constructed for a flexible thread operating under air pressure. The calculation of the flexible thread system is performed using the finite element method. The testing of the calculation method is demonstrated using the example of a hemispherical shell reinforced with ropes in the meridional and latitudinal directions.
