Streamlining the Handymen Hiring Process in Ilocos Norte Through Mobile Technologies

Unemployment remains a significant issue in the Philippines, with a large percentage of the skilled labor force unable to secure jobs. This study focuses on streamlining the hiring process of handymen in Ilocos Norte through mobile technologies. This research aims to identify the usual hiring process, the challenges in the hiring of handymen, the needed handyman skills needed by potential employers in Ilocos Norte, the necessary functionalities of a mobile application, and the user-acceptance of the mobile application in terms functionality, usability, and performance. This research used a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. The qualitative methods used thematic analysis to identify the usual hiring process in Ilocos Norte and its challenges while the quantitative method is used in interpreting the user-acceptance test. This research will work closely with the handymen and potential employers to ensure that the mobile application will meets their needs, improving the employment opportunities in the Ilocos Norte.
