Biobjective Optimization Problems in a Simplified Model of Boost Converter with Photovoltaic Input

This paper studies biobjective optimization problems in a simplified model of boost converter with photovoltaic input. The two objectives evaluate stability of circuit operation and average input power. The circuit dynamics is described by a piecewise linear differential equation and the two objectives are calculated theoretically. Applying the brute force attack in a parameter subspace, we obtain Pareto front exactly: it guarantees existence of a trade-off between the two objectives. Introducing modified hypervolume indicator, the Pareto front is evaluated. The results provide important information to realize desired circuit operation.

Abstract

This paper studies biobjective optimization problems in a simplified model of boost converter with photovoltaic input. The two objectives evaluate stability of circuit operation and average input power. The circuit dynamics is described by a piecewise linear differential equation and the two objectives are calculated theoretically. Applying the brute force attack in a parameter subspace, we obtain Pareto front exactly: it guarantees existence of a trade-off between the two objectives. Introducing modified hypervolume indicator, the Pareto front is evaluated. The results provide important information to realize desired circuit operation.
