Electrical Properties Observation of Polymer-Based Hygroelectric Device

Hygroelectric Generator (HEG) generates electricity from the air by absorbing water molecules. In this research, the fabrication of HEG devices with self-healable properties has been successfully developed based on Poly(2-acrylamido-2-methyl-1-propanesulfonic acid (PAMPSA) polymer composite. Electrical property was observed by measuring the output voltage in varied relative humidity (RH). Testing the self-healing properties was performed by monitoring the output voltage when cutting the sample device. The results of testing electrical hygroelectric properties at varying relative humidity (RH) at 30%, 50% and 80% produce average output voltages of $0.001 \mathrm{~V}, 0.112 \mathrm{~V}$ and 0.304 V, respectively. The result of the self-healing test was seen from the regenerating voltage after the sample was spontaneously reconnected. These findings suggest that PAMPSA-based HEG devices have considerable potential for future applications in sustainable energy harvesting from ambient humidity.
