L5-Pelvic Junction Compression Force and Shear Force Based on IMU Sensors and Biomechanical Analysis during Oil Palm Harvesting-Push Technique
Oil palm harvesting presents a considerable risk for the development of musculoskeletal disorder (MSDs), particularly low back pain (LBP). The use of IMU sensors is crucial for providing feedback to improve manual material handling techniques, which can mitigate LBP risk. This study aims to investigate oil palm harvesting techniques using IMU sensors combined with biomechanical analysis to identify and mitigate potential risks associated with LBP. The research focused primarily on biomechanical criteria, specifically peak compression force and shear force, observed in 3 experienced harvesters using push technique. These results highlight the necessity for developing enhanced harvesting techniques to lower the risk of LBP.
