Performance Enhancement of CSRR-based C-Band Wave Absorber using Evolved Double Split-Ring Structure

This paper presents a performance enhancement of a C-band wave absorber using an evolved double split-ring structure. The C-band wave absorber is developed with the basic shape of a circular patch resonator and ring resonator on an FR4 Epoxy dielectric substrate with a dielectric thickness of 1.60 mm. The performance deficiency of circular patch and ring resonators deals with the structure of open ring resonators, which have better absorption. A double circular split ring resonator (CSRR) with four gaps on each ring resonator is proposed to enhance the performance of the C-band wave absorber, which has an absorption bandwidth of 860 MHz, which, started from 6.54 GHz to 7.40 GHz.
