A 12 dBm, 0.1–12 GHz Compact Power Mixer based Ultra-Wideband Transmitter
This paper presents a $0.1-12 \mathrm{GHz}$ ultra-wideband power mixer implementing shunt inductive peaking. The power mixer has been co-designed with an off-chip 4-element LC-ladder based ultra-wideband matching network, that reduces sensitivity to bondwire inductance. The power mixer based transmitter has been designed in 65 nm CMOS process and occupies an exceptionally low area of $0.16 \mathrm{~mm}^{2}$. The output matched post-layout results exhibit a 3 dB bandwidth of 14.3 GHz. The maximum conversion gain is 19 dB, and the output P1dB is 12 dBm. The circuit draws 95 mA from a 3.5 V power supply.
