Advanced Optical Waveform With Single Mode Fiber Optic for Developing Upcoming Networks of Mobile Communications

An advanced optical backbone waveform for the upcoming mobile networks termed optical orthogonal generalized frequency division multiplexing (O-OGFDM) with a single mode fibre (SMF) and intensity modulator/direct detector (IM/DD) converter is presented, investigated, and valued for the first time. The proposed waveform is launched for a single carrier modulation in an optical back-to-back system. The developed design aims to complete the propagation journey of the primary wireless orthogonal generalized frequency division multiplexing (OGFDM) by supplying extended transmission services for the long haul rather than short distances while maximizing the bit rate. Apart from the higher bit rate achieved with the backbone O-OGFDM than the access network OGFDM, an extremely extended level of transmission coverage can be obtained with the O-OGFDM. The optical system efficiency for the presented O-OGFDM, in terms of the utilized baud processing, maximum bit rate, minimum error rate, and optical power level, is demonstrated in comparison with the optical GFDM and the electrical OGFDM. Ultimately, the simulation by MATLAB is employed to validate the performance of the proposed system considering accurately specified optimum parameters for this purpose.
