Redistribution of traffic flows between railway lines of different categories: problem statement and genetic algorithms

Purpose: to improve the efficiency of the railway transport network using the carrying capacity of lowintensity transit railway lines. Methods: methods of control theory, transport process theory, system analysis, synthesis and genetic algorithms were applied. Results: The toolkit for redistributing traffic flows between low-intensity lines and lines of other categories using genetic algorithms was improved. Practical significance: the proposed toolkit allows determining the priority of passing freight trains between railway lines of different categories, including low-intensity ones, in order to reduce delays in the movement of freight flows
