Mediatyzacja cierpienia i ucieleśnionych miłości w pracach Ani Nowak
This text deals with the strategy of mediatization of embodied experiences in Ania Nowak’s artistic practice and the political potential of intermedial discourses on suffering, loss, and love. The author, using the category of “stickiness” – as understood by Sarah Ahmed – demonstrates some intuitions and possibilities regarding the feminist use of the power of intermedial relations in institutional space. The works analyzed are those presented as part of two exhibitions by Ania Nowak: Can You Die of a Broken Heart? (Ujazdowski Castle Centre for Contemporary Art in Warsaw, 2018, curator: M. Szymanowka) and Kissing Doesn’t Kill. Ania Nowak and Guests (Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, 2023, curator: M. Grzegorzek). Keywords: media studies, Ania Nowak, performance, queer, intermedia, body, corporeality, language, sign, stickiness
