Kolektywne odzyskiwanie ciszy. Ku ekologiom regeneratywnym
When noise pollution, especially exacerbated in cities, adversely affects human, animal, and plant life – quietness becomes a precious resource. It is therefore necessary to create strategies to re- claim quietness, which requires changes in thinking about the city and adjustments to existing activities. Only by actively contributing to the regeneration of natural systems does the city as a multi-species collective have a chance to reduce noise effectively. One possible corrective action is to build respect for the “fourth nature” and, based on this, design quiet spaces. The text analyzes the project of establishing the Quiet Park on the site of the former city stadium named after Edmund Szyc in Poznan, whose location and complicated history made it possible to create an acoustic refuge in the city center. Keywords: quietness, noise, fourth nature, city park, soundscape, the Edmund Szyc Stadium
