Transcatheter aortic valve replacement: Trans axillary approach
In 10–15 % of patients, femoral arteries are not appropriate for transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). 1 Trans axillary approach has lately become preferred access site in these cases due to its relatively straight course from the axillary artery to the aortic annulus, which provides a more accurate device deployment. Here we discuss a case of elderly male with peripheral arterial disease who underwent Trans axillary TAVR.
