The results of experimental studies of the grain germination plant

Studies have been conducted aimed at germination of grain using the proposed modular installation. The article presents a developed grain germination plant for the subsequent production of vitamin feed additives. The water should be supplied to the grain by flooding to moisten the grain, and water disinfection is carried out by its ultraviolet irradiation. Optimization criteria have been selected that characterize the workflow of the grain germination plant. When conducting screening experiments, the factors that have the greatest impact on the selected optimization criteria were revealed. The results of experimental studies to determine the effect of the duration of grain soaking and the duration of illumination on the growth rate and energy intensity of grain germination are presented. The regression equations of energy intensity and grain germination rate are written down. The experimental dependences of the grain germination rate on the duration of illumination and the duration of soaking, the energy intensity of grain germination on the duration of illumination and the duration of soaking are presented. The following were determined: the highest grain germination rate Vm = 1600–1650 g/day; the productivity of the proposed installation is 4.806 kg/day; the minimum energy consumption of grain germination EP = 65–70 Wh/kg was obtained with an illumination duration per day T1 = 6.5–7.0 h, the duration of grain soaking per day T2 = 6.0–6.5 h.
