Efficiency of irrigated soybean cultivation in the Volgograd region

The article examines the binary influence of various methods of soil cultivation and irrigation regimes on soil density, moisture consumption, the amount of weediness in crops and soybean yield. The largest number of weeds (13.1 pieces/m2) compared to the control was in the crop germination phase in the variant with disk tillage. The variant with nonmoldboard processing (A2) occupies an intermediate position in terms of the amount of weeds from 9.2 to 13.6 pcs/m2. Soybean crops were the least weeded in the germination phase in the variant with an irrigation regime of 60% of minimum moisture-holding capacity (B1) - 9.8 pcs./m2, in the variant with an irrigation regime of 80% of minimum moisture-holding capacity (B3) - 10.5 pcs./m2. The maximum yield of soybean crops has been established depending on the variants studied. In variants with irrigation in 2021, soybean grain yield exceeded the control by 0.76 t/ha (13.6%), in 2022 the increase was 0.55 t/ha (12.2%). The same trend was in 2023. The advantage of the binary interaction of the nonmoldboard tillage to a depth of 0.25–0.27 m and the irrigation regime with maintaining a pre-irrigation moisture threshold of 70% of minimum moisture-holding capacity was shown.
