The effect of irrigation regime and protective forest plantations on alfalfa yield

The article presents the results of research on the effect of different irrigation regimes and protective forest plantations of different designs on alfalfa yield in the steppe of the Saratov Zavolzhye. It has been established that forest strips and irrigation regimes play an important role in the cultivation of alfalfa and contribute to increasing crop yields. Studies have been conducted on the influence of the irrigation regime and the design of protective forest plantations on the peculiarities of alfalfa yield formation during the crop season and on average for three mowing. When studying the variant of the blown structure at a differentiated irrigation regime, the highest alfalfa yield of 11.98 t/ha is observed. The regression and correlation analysis allowed to establish that the relationship between alfalfa yields is 88% ensured by the irrigation regime and the openness of the forest strip.
