Advances in the clinical application of small molecule chemical drugs
Chemical small molecule drugs, whose molecular weight is often less than 1000, are usually a signal transduction inhibitor specifically blocking the signal transduction pathway necessary for tumor growth and proliferation, so as to achieve the ideal treatment effect. Mostly, these drugs are absorbed through the concentration gradient, which provides the power. In this research, Gefitinib, Sorafenib, Imatinib are elaborately introduced in terms of their synthesis, treatment effect, merits and demerits of non-small cell lung cancers patients (NSCLC), hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), respectively. It is found that chemical small molecule drugs have a broad prospect because of their specificity and great drug properties. However, in the treatment process of chemical small molecule drugs, they are liable to drug resistance mutations and multi-drug resistance sites, thus drug improvement and update iteration will be more frequent. In addition, the side effects and adverse events of these drugs should be concerned about. Meanwhile, the development of drug synthesis routes should give priority to non-toxic and non-hazardous synthetic raw materials, while reaction conditions such as cost, temperature, reaction time and so forth should be taken into consideration for industrial mass production.
