Model of anisotropic ring resonator based on coupled mode theory

This paper presents an anisotropic ring resonator model based on coupled mode theory. The developed model was validated using experimental data presented in Opt. Express 27 , 35659 ( 2019 ) 10.1364/OE.27.035659 for the ring resonator made of X-cut thin film lithium niobate. A good agreement between the model and experimental results for the free spectral range is observed beyond the hybridisation region while in the hybridisation region there is a notable discrepancy between the obtained results and the literature data. This paper proposes a possible explanation for the observed discrepancy, which may be the subject of a separate experimental study.
