Linguistic features of Spanish telemarketing advertising
The aim of the study is to determine the linguistic means that contribute to the creation of argumentative speech in Spanish advertising of a telemarketing shop; to identify the linguistic features of this type of advertising, paying attention to the structure of the sentence, the use of grammatical constructions, highlighting the key elements of the message. The article analyses the components peculiar to argumentative texts: the presence of a thesis and arguments, direct explicit argumentation and the use of discursive markers of assertion construction. The authors consider the linguistic means of influencing the audience to realize the main goal – to sell advertised goods and services. The object of the study is Spanish-language advertisements of ‘shop on the couch’. The subject of the study – linguistic and stylistic features of these texts. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the comprehensive study of both lexical, grammatical, and stylistic characteristics of the advertising message of a telemarketing shop, because this particular type of advertising, in our opinion, is insufficiently studied from a scientific point of view. The results showed that the texts of telemarketing advertisements are argumentative in their structure and have a wide range of influencing means to achieve a perlocutionary effect.
