The image of Innokenty (Veniaminov) in the "documentary narrative" by T. I. Gladkikh: Forms of fictionalization of historical material

The purpose of the study is to identify the forms of fictionalization of historical material in the "documentary narrative" by T. I. Gladkikh. The scientific novelty of the work is determined by the appeal to the problems of Far Eastern literature, which is poorly represented in modern literary studies, as well as the choice of the subject and methodology of the study: the activities of St. Innocent are well covered in historical and historical-religious literature, but there are no literary works examining the experience of artistic interpretation of his image. As a result of the analysis, the forms of fictionalization of historical material related to the image of Innokenty Veniaminov (psychologism, reinterpretation of epistolary, memoir, documentary sources) have been identified and described; the value-semantic content of the work under consideration has been traced. The article substantiates the idea that literary interpretation contributes to the conceptualization of historical material: the image of the saint is revealed as a conceptual symbol of national culture, and the geography of his activities in Alaska and the Amur region, reflected in the work, contributes to the formation of a frontier chronotope of the Far Eastern text of Russian literature.
