Life, My Sister
This article, which combines elements of an essay with a more discursive approach, describes the professional and personal trajectory of a Slovak researcher and professor of Russian Studies. The pedagogical process of foreign language education in its cultural direction is the central focus of this study. The author asserts that the study of a new foreign language entails the acquisition of a new culture, which in turn informs the pedagogical process. The personal perception of Russian synthetic (integrated) culture is given particular attention, with reference to its aesthetic and moral impact. Russia and Russian culture, as Tsvetaeva notes, are the very events themselves.
