LINGUO-PRAGMATIC FEATURES OF TEXTS IN THE PUBLICISTIC STYLE

The article is dedicated to the linguistic and pragmatic features of texts in the publicistic style, which, in today’s internet-driven world, play a key role in shaping public opinion and directly influencing readers. The publicistic style occupies a significant place in the media segment, addressing diverse areas such as social, cultural, and political spheres. The article highlights the main pragmatic and linguistic mechanisms that lend argumentation, emotionality, and impact to publicistic texts. Attention is focused on the use of stylistic, syntactic, and lexical techniques aimed at achieving communicative intentions. Lexical tools include a range of stylistically expressive vocabulary that underscores the author’s firm stance and evokes emotional resonance within the target audience. Syntactic devices, notably repetitions, inversions, and rhetorical questions, enhance the expressiveness of the text and amplify its impact potential. The pragmatic aspects of textual content, which support modern communication, are also examined. Additionally, the article addresses the process of manipulation, which is executed through audience consciousness by incorporating techniques that instill and shape perceptions and attitudes toward specific circumstances or individuals portrayed in publicistic texts. The research demonstrates that the effectiveness of texts in this style also depends on the skillful combination of informative and persuasive functions, which the author consciously integrates to convey a specific message to the target audience. Special attention is given to the importance of crafting effective headlines and subheadings for publicistic texts, such as news, reports, and interviews. Thus, the article illustrates how the linguistic and pragmatic features of publicistic texts can profoundly influence readers, subconsciously shaping their opinions about specific circumstances or characters in the text. This study makes a significant contribution to understanding how the publicistic style impacts modern communicative strategies.
