GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CONCEPT OF CRISIS IN THE ENGLISH LINGUISTIC PICTURE OF THE WORLD
The study of the organization of the conceptual space and the comparison of language pictures of the world of speakers of different languages has remained in the field of attention of linguists and translation scholars since the end of the 20th century. Researchers turn to the national and culturally specific aspects of the world picture of English speakers, which is a means of human communication, a tool for the transmission of thought, and also acts as a mirror of national culture. Today, a wide range of concepts is considered in linguistics. In particular, the study of the concept "CRISIS" is a relevant topic of cognitive semantics, which has acquired special importance during the period of intensification of world conflicts and global transformations. The concept of "CRISIS" is particularly relevant, as it is filled with many functional nuances, which are perceived differently and are reflected in various spheres of human life. The work provides a general description of the "CRISIS" concept and analyzes the specifics of its application in the English-language socio-political discourse. The material of the study was English-language mass media ("The Guardian", "The Times").
