The biosynthesis of jasmonic acid and its mediated regulation of cold stress tolerance
<p indent="0mm">Under the current background of frequent extreme climate disasters worldwide, non-biotic stresses such as cold damage have become significant limiting factors in agricultural production, seriously affecting crop yields. In the process of plants responding to various stresses, hormones play a crucial role. Among them, jasmonic acid (JA), a lipid compound commonly found in plants, has now become one of the key signal substances regulating various physiological activities in plants. In this article, the latest progress in the molecular basis of cold signal perception and cold stress response signaling pathways is summarized, and the biosynthesis and derivatives of JA, the perception of cold signals by JA, the large number of shared components between the JA signaling transduction and cold response pathways, as well as the joint regulation of plant responses to cold stress by JA and other plant growth substances are reviewed. This review will shed light on the signal pathways of crop cold responses and the mechanisms of endogenous hormone stress resistance. It will also be helpful for the development of compound preparations that can enhance crop cold tolerance and the formulation of effective strategies to alleviate crop cold damage.
