Convergence and quasi-optimality of an AFEM for the Dirichlet boundary control problem

Abstract In this article, convergence and quasi-optimal rate of convergence of an Adaptive Finite Element Method is shown for the Dirichlet boundary control problem that was proposed by Chowdhury et al. (2017, Error bounds for a Dirichlet boundary control problem based on energy spaces, Math. Comp., 86, 1103–1126). The theoretical results are illustrated by numerical experiments.
