RFID Technology-based Stock Verification: A Case Study at Presidency University Library, Bengaluru

Updating the library's collection is necessary to serve the user base better.Libraries purchase books and non-book resources for this purpose; occasionally, they may also accept gifts of books from the public or from within.However, it needs to be examined to see if this collection has been damaged or lost any ground due to natural causes like damage or book theft.So, stock verification needs to be done.Stock verification in the Presidency University Library is done every year.It includes verification through an RFID handheld scanner that stores the data and compares it to the accession register exported from Koha LMS software.The complete process, i.e., stock rectification, initial steps, stock checking, and report verification, is explained.
