Differential diagnosis of neoplasms of the cerebellar bridge angle simulating cystic neuroma of the auditory nerve
An auditory nerve neurinoma is a benign tumor that usually occurs in the inner auditory canal in the Obersteiner — Redlich zone of the upper vestibular nerve between oligodendrocytes and Schwann cells located 8–10 mm from the pial membrane of the lateral surface of the bridge. The incidence is 1 case per 100,000 population per year. 90 % of infratentorial tumors in adults are neurinomas of the auditory nerve. The article provides data on the clinical picture, differential diagnosis and prevalence of this disease.
