Creation of 3D Printed Anatomical Models for Teaching Purposes of Dentistry Students
Visualization and accurate presentation is an essential part of the educational process for dental medicine students. The current study focuses on the creation of physical anatomical models of upper and lower arch with intact teeth, partial arch with teeth and a skull. For this purpose, a 3D scanner and two types of 3D printers were used - a filament based and a resin based. The physical anatomical models were successfully created in different sizes, highlighting specific features. The models were subsequently used in the curriculum of first year dental medicine students.
