A digital expert for a digital key comparison report processor

Key Comparisons Reports (KCRs) based on ring (or ‘round-robin’) comparisons performed by groups of National Measurement Institutions (NMIs) worldwide form the basis for confirming and expanding the capabilities of NMIs around the world and consequently the accuracy associated with the measurement traceability chain. Currently a digital approach for processing and storing the relevant measurement and information from these comparisons is being piloted. In this contribution, a proposal is made to update the ‘paper-based’ process with an end-to-end digital workflow using Digital Calibration Certificates (DCCs) as the medium to store and communicate the intermediary and final-results of the key comparison; and a Digital Metrology Expert (DME) software tool to support and perform the processing of the data behind the Key Comparison. This paper focuses mainly on the DME.
