ARHIVSKA MREŽA NA KOSOVU I METOHIJI: ISTORIJSKI RAZVOJ

The paper elaborates on the historical genesis of the archival network in Kosovo and Metohija, which emerged after the Second World War within the framework of socialist Yugoslavia. The formation of the archival network in Kosovo and Metohija was made possible through the efforts and initiatives of the central archival institution operating within the Autonomous Region of Kosovo and Metohija and the later Autonomous Province of Koso- vo and Metohija. In cooperation with provincial and municipal authorities, this institution established and developed the archival network. Furthermore, the paper provides a detailed explanation of the historical and political developments culminating in 1998 and 1999, and the repercussions of these events, which have had a lasting impact on the work, organization, and functioning of the archival network to the present day.
