Morphology and thermal properties of a nanocomposite based on polypropylene PP/MnO2

This research study investigated the thermal stability and morphology of PP/MnO2 nanocomposite as a function of volume content of polypropylene (PP) and manganese nanooxide nanofiller using atomic force microscopy (AFM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Polymer nanocomposites obtained by hot pressing method were formed into 120 μm thick layers. The effect of MnO2 nanoparticles on polypropylene polymer was determined by determining the degree of crystallization, melting enthalpy and structural properties. The importance of this paper is that besides using PP/ MnO2 based nanocomposites as microelectronics for making memory cells, it is also possible to make new sensors based on these sample.
