Social Well-Being of Residents of Buryatia in Difficult Life Situations

Based on data from a sociological study conducted in Buryatia in 2024, this article examines the social well-being of residents of the republic who find themselves in challenging life circumstances. The analysis focuses on key indicators and factors influencing social well-being, including overall life satisfaction, financial status, level of optimism, leisure activity, regional problems, and the desire for life changes. The findings identify specific social groups that are most in need of social assistance: students, individuals with disabilities, orphans, and the temporarily unemployed. The research reveals that one significant aspect affecting the level of social well-being is educational attainment. Citizens with higher education experience fewer financial difficulties and exhibit a more optimistic attitude in life. Furthermore, the study establishes that gender and regional factors do not significantly impact the social well-being of the population. This research contributes to the understanding of social dynamics in Buryatia and underscores the importance of targeted social support for vulnerable groups, as well as the role of education in enhancing individual well-being.
