Development Status, Challenges, and Future Prospects of China's Green Bond Market

The high rate has characterized the growth of Chinas green bond market and further emphasizes its involvement in protecting the environment and ensuring sustainable development. Green bonds act as a vital source of investible financial resources for green projects like renewable energy and green buildings, which support China's carbon peaking and carbon neutrality policies. However, the market experiences several difficulties, such as high finance costs, insufficient market capacity, scanty information about the products, and few new products. Such factors restrict the timely provision of funds for green initiatives and prompt concerns over the issue of green-washing.
