A Brief Overview on the Gold Vapor Laser
Abstract: In terms of both structure and function, the gold vapor laser and the copper vapor laser are extremely similar. By substituting a pure gold wire for the solid copper, it is sometimes possible to use the same laser tube and power source for both lasers. The laser's high average peak power in the red spectral area causes it to output monochromatic pulsed red light at a wavelength of 627.8 nm. The repetition rate of the emitted beam is between 5 and 15 kHz. In the gold vapor laser, neon or helium gas is frequently used as a buffer gas.[22
