Development of Fault-Tolerant Versions of a Three-Source Multilevel Inverter Topology for Optimal Performance with Reduced Number of Auxiliary Switches
Fault-tolerant power converters are crucial components of a dependable power electronic system. Due to a variety of operating conditions, the majority of power converters are highly susceptible to malfunctions. A power quality evaluation of a three-source MLI topology has been conducted. Further, in literature, several fault-tolerant versions of the three-source MLI topology have been proposed. In this paper, three different fault-tolerant topologies and their fault-tolerant abilities are discussed. A power quality assessment has also been conducted for three source topologies and the fault-tolerant version of the three-source MLI topology. The efficacy of the fault-tolerant version of the three-source MLI topology has been demonstrated through a fault-tolerant analysis and simulation results.
